Stories of Dignity
Restored

Every elder at Aadhar Vruddhashram has a story. Stories of abandonment, hardship — and ultimately, of being loved again. These are their voices.

"I raised them with everything I had. They left me on the street."

Sundabai Gachakeshwar spent her entire life labouring — farming, carrying loads, raising two sons with fierce devotion. At 75, after an injury left her unable to work, her sons turned her away. A kind citizen found her at the Renukamata temple and called Aadhar.

"When the world turns its back, Aadhar Vruddhashram opens its arms." — Ganesh Dongaonkar, Director

Today, Sundabai has a room, meals, companionship, and dignity. She is home.

🙏 Help More Elders Like Sundabai

78 years old, served a temple for 25 years — left alone to die.

Balasaheb Pimplaphure served the Kaveri Mahadev Temple in Vaijapur for 25 years. When illness made him bedridden, even the devotees stopped coming. He lay unattended for over a year. A local named Dinesh Pardeshi called Aadhar Vruddhashram.

"They bathed me, fed me, gave me medicine. Nobody had touched me with kindness in over a year. I thought I would die alone."

Director Dongaonkar personally drove to rescue him the same day. Balasaheb now receives full care, medication, and companionship.

🏆 Community Recognition

12 years of silent service — finally recognised by the community.

Without any government grant or institutional funding, Ganesh Dongaonkar has run Aadhar Vruddhashram entirely on public generosity. In 2023, AASTHA (Touching & Caring Lives) honoured him at their 18th Foundation Day for his extraordinary humanitarian work.

"We don't do this for awards. We do it because every grandmother deserves to eat a warm meal tonight."

The ashram currently cares for 25+ elders. Every rupee donated goes directly to their care.

❤️ Support the Mission

Free health camps — because medicine shouldn't have a price tag.

In partnership with local clinics and Lions Club Aurangabad, Aadhar Vruddhashram regularly organises free medical camps — blood sugar checks, BP monitoring, eye care, and specialist consultations for all residents and community elders who cannot afford care.

"Many of our elders hadn't seen a doctor in years. Now they receive monthly check-ups. That's dignity."

Lions Club donated essential diagnostic equipment. Your contribution helps sustain this work year-round.
